Rohingya Extorted 5300,000Ks By Battalion

A Rohingya religious
person was arrested by a battalion commander over the false accusation of
setting fire on Rakhines’ houses during 8th June riot and was severely
tortured and extorted 5300,000Ks.
According to a
student, on 21st Dec 2012, commander of the battalion temporarily settled
in Kha Ye Myine village (Natala village) of Bagona village tract arrested
Haji-Nur Mohamed s/o Dolilur Rahman over the false accusation of setting fire
on the Rakhines’ houses in 8th June riot. The commander asked for
money of 5000,000Ks from him, as he cannot afford such a big amount, he couldn’t
pay immideate response. So, he was sent to police station where he was severely
tortured. As the torturing was unbearable, the commander was paid 4500,000Ks. Then,
the commander phoned to the police station to release Haji-Nur Mohamed. After
that, police station released him extorting 800,000Ks saying it is for the
police station, 4500,000Ks was for the commaner, not for them.
