A Rohingya Has BeenTortured And Extorted By Nasakas, Maung Daw

Today, on 3rd Dec 2012, a Rohingya bamboo seller, Jani Alom s/o Fetan Ali hailed from Aung Sit Pyin village tract was severely tortured by Nasakas of Chaung War camp in U Kyinn Kya village tract, Maung Daw for not paying the Nasakas illegal demand.
According to the Jani Alom’s helper, Jani Alom accopanaied by his daily helper was coming with 2800 pieces of bamboos from Aung Sit Pyin village tract to U Kyinn Kya village tract. When they reached Chaung War Nasaka camp, occasionally the Nasakas halted them and asked them to pay 20Ks per peiece (bamboo) though he has legal licence for selling bamboos (licence no: 1230/11). As Jani Alom said to the Nasakas, “Even I get 5Ks profit per piece after selling these, how can I pay 20Ks here?”, the Naskas tortured him severely and kept the bamboos in their camp. Jani Alom is taking treatment in a clinic of Ngaku Ra village tract as he got strong injuries including in his eye. At the end when the helper asked the Naskas for the bamboos, the bamboos were given back by the extortion money of 20000Ks.

Similarly, the Nasakas from the sentry camp in Kyar Gaung Taung village tract are looting vegetables, fish, and money from the Rohingyas who are daily sellers while passing near the camp. Those who have nothing are tortured.

These kinds of cases are happening on Rohingyas in most of the areas where there are Nasaka’s sentry camps.
