1) Rakhine Extremists Kidnapped a Rohingya
A
Rohingya man, Osman (son of) Htaanda Meah hails from the village of
Dael Fara (,Ward 5), was kidnapped by some Rakhine extremists on 16th
October 2013 accusing that the man owes some money to the extremists.
He was hijacked right before the eyes of the Police in Myoma Kayindan
(Shiddafara), Maung Daw, and the police didn’t do anything to prevent
the kidnapping. The man has not returned home yet.

2) Tortures and Harassment by Hlun Hteins (Security Force)
a) On 20th
October 2013 night, the head of Hlun Hteins (Security Force), U Zaw
Zaw, of the camp at the village of Maung Ni, Maung Daw, accompanied by
his force severely beat three Rohingyas while they were serving sentry
duty. The accusation against the four Rohingyas was that they were
sleeping during the duty and they are: 1) Lalu S/o Madu (Age 30), 2)
Najum S/o Noor (Age 19) and 3) Ismail S/o Noora Meah (Age 16).
b) Around 8PM on 24th October 2013, the same Hlun Hteins (Security Force) mentioned just above (at b,)
arrested four Rohingyas at Myoma Kayintan (Shidda Fara) and took them
to their custody arbitrarily accusing that they were going to Malaysia.
They were beaten and bodily harrased at the Security Force custody. They
are: 1) Mohammed Alam (son of) Lalu, 2) Mohammed Noor (son of) Amin and
3) and 4) are women (their names are witheld for privacy).

3) Police Extorted Money from an Innocent Rohingya
At 9:30 on 28th
October 2013, Head of Police at Long-Doong Station, northern Maung Daw,
arrested Anwar Shah (son of) Habi Ullah while he (Anwar Shah) was on
his way back home. And the police officer extorted Kyat 250,000 from him
under the lame accusation of possesing illegal Bangladeshi mobile
phone. In reality, Anwar doesn’t posses any Bangladeshi phone.
