Having alleged him of possessing illegal Bangladeshi Mobile Phone, they severely tortured him and extorted Kyat 150,000.

“A joint force of Police, Military, Hlun Hteins (Security Force) and SaRaPha (Military Security Affairs) arbitarily arrested Mohammed Ullah (son of) Mohammed Tahir (Age 24) in the village of Payung-Chaung Dhodan of Buthidaung Township around 12:30AM on 23rdDecember 2013. Then, they falsely alleged of him of possessing illegal Bangladeshi Mobile Phone. They torutured him severely in order to extort money. And they did extort Kyat 150,000 after that.
The said joint force is from the camps based in Nyaung Chaung village of the same township. They accompanied by the village administrator, Maung Than Htay (a Rakhine racist), often rampage this village. They arbitrarily accuse innocent Rohingyas of possessing illegal Bangladeshi Mobile Phones or being human trafficking agents. They keep torturing them (Rohingyas) until and unless they can extort huge amount of money from them (Rohingyas).
Their atrocities on us have become unbearable. That’s why you often see people taking perilous sea-journey to other countries. They just want to escape this hell” said a villager on the condition of anonymity.
