A Rohingya Shot By Nasaka, Maung Daw

More than 20 Rakhines attacked some Rohingya fire-woods cutters in a mountain where a Nasaka shot at the Rohingyas in stead of helping them.
On 4th Dec 2012, some Rohingyas (fire-wood cutters) hailed from Zin Paing Nya village tract went to the nearest mountain of Kyee Kan Pyin village tract to cut fire-woods. After cutting fire-woods, more than 20 Rakhines from the Natala village of Kyee Kan Pyin village tract attacked on the Rohingyas while the Rohingyas were drinking water from a stream before their return. When the Rohingyas shouted for help, a Nasaka from a sentry camp closer to the mountain came to them and shot his gun at the Rohingyas where a Rohingya called Edris s/o Yunose Ahmed (38Yr) was shot at his thigh. He is taking medical treatment in his village.
Most of the Rohingyas in Maung Daw are poor and are facing many difficulties to serve their families as the government has blocked every income sources since 8th June 2012. They have only a source that is fire-woods cutting. Now, Rakhines are attaking even these firewood collectors and the Naskas are going with Rakhines shooting their guns at the Rohingyas in stead of helping them.
