Compilation of Recent Reports on Atrocities against Rohingya

1- Rohingya Houses Robbed by Rakhines in Security Force Uniform
MYARF Report | Maungdaw, Arakan State
In Northern Maung on 11th December 2013 morning: A group of Rakhine robbers in Hlun Htein (Security Force) Uniform broke into two Rohingya houses in the village of Gila Taali of Kyauk Chaung (Shil Khali) village tract at 12:40AM on 11th December 2013. The houses belong to U Lalu s/o U Rashid Ahmad and U Kabir Ahmad s/o U Asho Ali respectively.

The Rakhine dacoits entered the house of U Lalu pretending to be Security Force on the duty of Guest-Check (Aye-Sayein) in the house. When the family members opened the door, they started robbing jewelries and other precious things. The robbers severely beat U Lalu’s and fled taking Kyat 400,000 away in addition to jewelries. Unfortunately, U Lalu was imprisoned a few days ago with a false charge of illegal possession Bangladeshi mobile phones.
And in the home of U Kabir Ahmed, no report of beating by the robbers was heard but the robber did take away Kyat 500,000 and some clothes.

2- Rakhine Terrorists Kill an Innocent Rohingya Boy

In Pauktaw on 8th December 2013: Aziz Rahman (son of) U Buju Meah and (Age 12) from the village of Pyali-Chaung of Kaddin-Paik village tract used to work for a Rakhine businessman at the Kaddin village (the bigger village). His boss used to pick him up and drop him after work. However, the boss was unable to do so on 7th December 2013.
So, on his way back home around 6:00PM of the day, he was stopped by a group of Rakhine hooligans and stabbed and brutally beaten to death. The next morning (i.e. around 7AM on 8th December 2013), when his worried parents with the help of his co-villagers were out to look for their missing son, they found him dead with the stabbed injuries amidst bushes by roadside.

3- A Rohingya Arrested in Relation to Accidental Fire in Pauktaw IDP Camps

Sittwe, Arakan State
Camps of Rohingya IDP at the village of Kra’a-Gri (Kraa’-Gyi) in Pauktaw township caught fire around 02:05PM on 12th December 2013. Consequently, 42 IDPcamps completely turned into ashes, a 15-day-old baby died and many people injured. It was an accidental fire. But on 13th December 2013, Pauktaw Police arrested an innocent Rohingya called Haanfura (Son of) Rashid Ahmed (Age 27) under the allegation causing fire.
