December 18, 2013
In Northern Maungdaw around 8PM on 17th December 2013: five Rohingya shops at the Bazaar of the village of Nagpura (Ngakura) caught fire. The shops belonged to 1) Mohammed Yunus (Son of) Zabbor (Age 24), 2) Mohammed Jaber (Son of) Nazir Hussain (Age 30), 3) Mohammed Zubair (Son of) Mv Mohammed (Age 43), 4) Hussain (Son of) Mohammed Siddique (Age 27) and 5) Sultan (Son of) Fazal (Age ?) respectively.
The villagers extinguished the fire and only one shop got burnt down. That shop belonged to the person at the number third mentioned-above. The shop was worth around Kyat 5 Millions. However, the authority arrested the owner of the shop instead of finding out actual culprits. Before the burning took place, many Rakhines including some strangers had been seen gathering at the Myothit village, a hamlet of the village of Nagpura (Ngakuara).

2- Arbitrary Military Operation, Innocent Rohingyas Kept Incommunicado
MYARF Report | Maungdaw, Arakan State
December 12, 2013
In Northern Maungdaw around 5PM on 11th December 2013: Military summoned Amir Hakim, the administrator of the village of Oo Kye Kya (Bura Shikdar Fara), Mohammed Ali, ex-administrator of the village, and three more elderly people [1) Carpenter Abul Hussain, 2) Shuna Meah and 3) Koillya Meah] of the village to the nearby Rakhine village called 'Ray Mya Taung'. Many high-level government officers of Maungdaw, innumerable Military and Police officers gathered in the Rakhine village at the time.
Around 7:30 of the day, a joint force of Military, Hlun Htein (Security Force) and Police together with Rakhine youths besieged the whole village of Oo Kye Kya. Meanwhile, some of them raided the homes of Amir Hakim and Mohammed Ali to look for the insurgents and the arms (the authority) accused to have been hidden in their homes. They vandalized their homes and left nothing untouched. They destroyed cupboards, shelves and cooking-pots. They overturned the floor of the houses and dug the yards out the houses.
However, nothing were found in their homes and everything turned out to be contrary to the accusations of the authority. They didn't loot anything but Kyat 200,000 found in their homes.
They freed the three Rohingya heads of the village at 11:30PM of the day. But Amir Hakim and Mohammed Ali have been kept incommunicado. Some people said that they were taken to the Police custody in the village of Naag-Pura (Ngakura).
