Security Force Stone MSF Office in Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan- Three Security Force (HlunHtein) personnel threw stones at MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières) Office at the village of Myoma Kayintan (Shidda Fara), Maungdaw, around 4AM today (30^th March 2014).

"Some people started throwing stones at MSF office in Shidda Fara, Maungdaw, around 4 O'Clock this morning. When head of the office, a female international NGO worker, looked through a window of the office using her torch light, she saw three people in HlunHtein uniforms hurling stones at the office. She suspected them to be Security Force personnel in charge of the 'Aung Mre Bodi' monastery opposite to the (MSF) office" said local Rohingya referring to a report by the officer.

"These HlunHteins might be drunken and were showing their dissatisfication and hatred for the aids the MSF and other similar NGOs provide to displaced Rohingyas in Sittwe, Pauktaw and other parts of the country. They might be of Rakhine ethnic background. In Sittwe violence targeting INGOs, Government forces involved as well" he added.
