A 65 years old Rohingya,
Yunose @ Baityar s/o Kuilliya Meya from Nurulla village of Bagona village tract
who was arrested with 23 other Rohingyas after the June riot and was sent to
Buthidaung Central Jail. On 22nd of September 2013 at 1:00AM in the
jail, an in-charged policeman shouted using rude words at him while he was
telling about his illness to another prisoner next to him.
When Yunose replied
saying that he was just telling his prison-mate about his illness, the
policeman took him out of the room and tortured brutally under a tree in the
dark night for that he had lost his life at about 3:00AM. Then his corpse was
sent to Buthidaung General Hospital for autopsy at 7:00AM in the morning, the
body was released from the hospital at 3:00PM. Then when Muslims in Buthidaung
asked for the corps for funeral the policemen said they need 100,000Ks for it
otherwise they couldn’t hand over the body to them. Finally he was buried by
the Muslims in 3rd grave yard of Let Wae Ded after being paid
100,000Ks to the policemen.
