Maungdaw,
Arakan- A Rakhine (Magh) armed group inhumanely struck a Rohingya
farmer on his way back from his farm in the village of Ye-Nok-Nga-Sar
of northern Maungdaw around 2:30PM on 2nd April 2014.
“Sayed
Alam (son of) Sheikh Ahmed is a local farmer of the village of
Ye-Nok-Nga-Sar of northern Maungdaw. While he was on his way back
from his betel farm in a nearby forest, he accidentally met with a
group of Rakhine militants suspected to be the members of Arakan
Liberation Party (ALP).
They,
for no reason, punched him, kicked him and struck him with guns many
times. They left him at the place when he was almost to death. Now,
even his villagers don’t think he can live further” said a nearby
villager.
“Yes,
this is what they do. On one hand, we are oppressed and inhumanely
persecuted by the government. On the other hand, these Rakhine
terrorists always loot us, torture us and kill our people” he
added.
